Plastic is everywhere, in our oceans, soil, air, food, and even our bodies, yet production keeps increasing. Roughly 171 trillion plastic pieces are currently floating in the ocean, harming wildlife, leaching chemicals, and breaking into microplastics that ultimately enter our food chain.
The solution
While we need to stop plastic pollution at the source, cleaning up is still important. When we remove large debris from coastlines, we prevent it from re-entering the sea, breaking down into tiny particles, or harming wildlife.
